The same offer letter or handbook can now be scoped to Engineering, Design and Operations at the same time. Department heads see what's theirs; admins see everything. Existing single-dept templates were migrated automatically — nobody loses scope on upgrade.

Every new hire gets their own copy.

Onboarding documents now generate a per-employee copy from a single canonical template. Each recipient gets their own audit trail, signature record, and signing certificate — so two new hires signing the same template never overwrite each other.

Read-only docs — handbooks, code of conduct, exit policies — used to sit open on the onboarding tab forever, waiting for an admin to tick the box. Now opening the doc quietly closes the task; an explicit "I have read & acknowledge" button is there too, for documents you want a deliberate confirm on.

A footer button on every read-only doc preview. One click is a deliberate compliance signal — same task closure, same audit trail, separate reason code so you can tell explicit from implicit at audit time.

Compliance documents are never closed by acknowledgment

Anything that requires a real signature — NDA, W-4, employment agreement — keeps flowing through the signing pipeline only.

An amber nudge,
not a notification flood.

The Action Required entry on the global sidebar now wears a small amber pill counting everything you still owe — pending signatures, overdue requests and pending acknowledgments — collapsed into a tiny dot when the rail is narrow.
